Ingilnook, Grange over Sands

The existing property was a two bedroomed bungalow set on a sloping site with a lower ground floor garage. Our client was concerned that the existing property had no presence and was an unattractive building, however its relation to the town centre and its elevation with views over Morecambe Bay provided a highly desirable location.

Our client wished to improve the house to give a dining room at ground floor, a snug, utility area, and two extra bedrooms including en suite and a house bathroom. The existing roof had too shallow a pitch to enable a traditional loft conversion, therefore the roof pitch was raised and dormer windows added to maximise the headroom inside the property. The brief also asked for a new entrance porch and a balcony to the first floor level. The resulting quality of the alterations and extensions to the property have ensured the building is unrecognisable from its original form.

The completed house provides much more accommodation and a much more attractive outer appearance.

The master bedroom attic room has a large glazed dormer leading onto a balcony with a glass balustrade.

The original house before the works to substantially rebuild and extend.
