The Warren, Manesty Park

Having been in the family for a long time, the Warren in Manesty Park on the shores of Derwent Water, was in need of a considerable makeover to bring its facilities up to date and improve the quality of the internal spaces. Along with a major refurbishment of the existing spaces to reconfigure their interrelationships an extension to the rear of the building was proposed that would create an additional bedroom, boot room, rear porch and cloak room. The kitchen was also extended by the addition of a fully glazed bay window with French doors opening onto a new external patio space.

The building is situated on a relatively remote track through the woodland on the shores of Derwent Water.

An extension to the rear, timber framed and clad, added to the ad-hoc charm of the low lying building.

The extension created a bedroom and utility / boot room.

The external timber cladding painted a petrol blue colour to create a contrast to the existing stone and the dense greenery of the surrounding woodland.
