Latterbarrow House, Witherslack

Extension and alteration to dwelling – Private Client

The brief was to create an extension to the property to provide a new en-suite guest bedroom accessed from its own staircase.  The ground floor comprises a utility room, storeroom and cloak room.  At the rear of the property a day room / study was added between the existing stairwell and the new extension.

The new bedroom was designed in timber frame to cantilever over the outside passage as the client wanted to maximise internal space but maintain an external route around the property to the rear garden.  The extension is constructed in modern materials and finished with render and timber to clearly distinguish them as a new phase in the historic development of the property.
