RICS 2017 Awards – Highly Commended
At the awards ceremony held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool at the end of May, we were delighted to be awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ in the category of Building Conservation for our work at St Cuthbert’s church in Kentmere. There were just three highly commended awards handed out on the evening and so we were exceptionally pleased to be recognised. The project was a fantastic team effort and the contractor, Heritage Conservation and Restoration worked tirelessly to ensure that the very best traditional skills and techniques were employed in all aspects of the repair work. Special thanks also go to the structural engineer, Gary Booth of WML Consulting, who’s attention to detail and methodical approach to identifying where repair was necessary whilst retaining as much historic fabric as possible, was one of the major reasons the works were a resounding success. This was a relatively small project but one we are extremely proud of. A perfect example of the design team, contractor and client working in harmony for one common goal – the safeguarding of the historic building’s future.
