Architect

Alex joined JCA in 2021, after 8 years working in London for an award-winning practice.

She studied at Newcastle and Westminster, qualifying as an architect, and becoming a Chartered member of the RIBA in 2016.

Alex has experience working on a range of buildings, from offices, residential and mixed-use schemes and in particular, performance venues and auditoriums. Most recently, she was project architect for a new auditorium for Sunderland which is part of the city’s ambitions to regenerate through music, arts, and culture.

Over the course of her career Alex has worked extensively in Revit, developing skills in Building Information Modelling, including coordinating complex buildings using 2D and 3D information.

Alex relocated to Cumbria to develop skills in domestic architecture, traditional construction methods and the adaption of heritage buildings. She brings a new perspective to the practice from her commercial background and is excited to be part of upcoming projects in the centre of Barrow in Furness, intending to provide facilities in the arts for local residents.
