The Boathouse is located on the shore of Windermere and was designed to provide a wet dock with lake access and a first floor day room.
The site benefitted from an extant planning permission and JCA were commissioned to progress a new design that was considered to be more appropriate to the use and location.
The design is modern but utilised traditional materials to achieve the external appearance of a utilitarian building that was far less domestic in appearance to the previous boathouse approved on the site.
