Our client’s brief was to provide an aesthetically pleasing sun room extension to the upper ground floor level of their house. The resultant under build was able to be used as a garden store and a work room for the family. The extension was carefully linked into a newly landscaped, terraced garden and patio linking the house to the garden. The sun room was finished with powder coated aluminium clad timber windows which are highly thermally efficient and low maintenance, with a tiled roof to match the existing bungalow.
The garden room extension at the side of the house now provides an well used internal space with fabulous links to the surrounding garden.
The undercroft below the garden room is a storeroom for gardening equipment.
The sloping site was utilised to create terraced hardscapes.
The structural bones of the extension is a simple steel portal frame.
